Day Program

What is the DAY PROGRAM?

Blackheath Disability Projects Day Program supports people with disabilities, who live in supported accomodation, to access recreation, leisure and education in the community.

The Day Program is funded by the Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care (DADHC) auspiced and managed by The Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre.

The aim of the Day Program is to support customers in learning independent living skills and integrating into the community through their personal choices for recreation.

Participants must be referred by DADHC and have a DADHC funded package to attend the service.

Program hours are:
Mondays and Fridays: 9.30am - 2.30pm
Tuesdays - Thursdays: 9.00am - 3.00pm
A minimum charge of $3 applies for each day.Some activities may costs may be higher depending on the activity

What does the Day Program provide?

Independent Living Skills
The Day Program provides supported training for customers to access the community, education and employment.

Life Options
The Day Program is designed and directed around individual customers life choices.

Recreation & Socialisation
The Day Program provides opportunities for customers to enjoy and develop skills in recreational activities and to socialise with their peers and the greater community.

Supported Community Access
The Day Program provides support workers to help customers access and integrate into mainstream activities of the community.

Advocacy
The Day Program provides advocacy in all areas of life and assists customers to access other services.

Family Relationships
The Day Program actively supports customers to re-new and maintain family relationships.

LILS’ PLACE
LILS’ Place is located at
8 Bundarra St Blackheath.
LILS is a Blackheath Disability Project centre for
LEARNING INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS.

LILS is a meeting venue and a space for

Recreation,
Arts and Crafts
Advocacy
Community Access
