BANC has been chosen as a recipient of the Connecting Seniors Grant from the New South Wales Department of Communities and Justice. The NSW Government’s vision is that all people in NSW experience the benefits of living longer and enjoy opportunities to participate in, contribute to and be included in their communities. Our BANC Seniors Hub will contribute to this vision by providing a variety of free workshops, events, and activities for older people in our community.

Elements of Life – FREE

Forest Therapy for seniors

Immerse yourself in the healing force of nature with our 4-week Forest Therapy program for seniors. Awaken your senses through weekly reflections on how the elements of earth, water, air and fire touch our landscape and life path. Each session features a mindful and sensory exploration of nature, creative activities, sharing circles and a peaceful tea ceremony.

Rediscover the simplicity of well-being and connect with others through our shared love of the environment.

The dates are; 20th and 27th March, 3rd and 10th April (Wednesday), 9:30am to 12:30pm.

We’re now hosting a weekly drop-in service to do quick fixes on smartphones. We aim to fix your problem in 30 minutes.

No appointment required, just drop in & say hello. If we’re busy grab a cuppa & we’ll be with you shortly.

NO COST Physiotherapy assessment, advocacy and referral service in Blackheath for people on low incomes. FRIDAY Mornings.

This free service is provided by a registered physiotherapist and is aimed at providing individuals with a quick assessment, advice and if necessary, referral to other heath providers.

Friday mornings, 10am to 12:30 at 37 Gardiner Crescent, Blackheath (adjacent to the Blackheath Area Neighbourhood Centre)

Life, The Universe and Stories

EVERY THURSDAY – 10am to 12pm, Presbyterian Church Hall

A different kind of social group.

‘Life, the Universe and Stories’ is a relaxed social group that centres around the reading, reflection and discussion of great short stories.

Our facilitated story groups are an enjoyable way to relax, connect with others and do something good for your mental health. Everyone is welcome, no matter what your level of interest in reading. Just come along, feel free to read and chat or just sit back and listen.

Who knows . . . you might even discover the meaning of life!
