This project provides supported recreation and leisure activities for people who have disabilities and live in the upper Blue Mountains.
Anyone wanting to access this service must be a person with low to moderate support needs. All participants must be able to access this service independently as this service does not provide transport. Travel training is available. As we are a support service we can not provide personal care. Anyone needing personal care must make other arrangements. Service Objectives The objectives of the Recreation and Leisure Service are to: - 1 build the capacity of individuals to participate in community life; 2 enhance the independence of people with a disability; 3 enable individuals to develop and sustain social and community relationships; 4 increase the ability of individuals to self-manage their social interactions and community participation; 5 facilitate and promote opportunities and pathways to ensure ongoing learning, training and development; 6 enhance the choice of recreational and leisure activities available to people with a disability; and 7 provide necessary support and assistance to people with a disability in accessing leisure and recreational activities.
